The Rev. Sean Miller-Perez serves as our interim pastor. A native and current resident of the Greenville area, he was ordained in 2010 and has served in both congregational and specialized calls, including currently serving as chaplain of RoseCrest Lutheran Home in Spartanburg. Pastor Sean is married to the Rev. Maria Miller-Perez, who serves as Upstate chaplain for Lutheran Hospice and Sunday supply pastor for Augsburg Lutheran Church in Union. They have one child, Ethan, who is a student at Valparaiso University in Indiana.
Katie Justice

Deacon Katie started at St. John’s during the time of COVID in 2020. She leads the ministry for children, youth, and families in all stages of life. Katie graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Newberry College and a Master’s degree from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary. She is passionate about building relationships, journeying with people on their faith journey and being there for people through happy and hard times.
Gloria Bockelman
Transition Coordinator

Gloria Bockelman officially joined the staff in August of 2014. Gloria has been a member of St. John’s since 1990. Her official job title is Transition Coordinator, but she is typically called the combobulator, a word coined by former Pastor Shannon since he was the discombobulator. She is a graduate of the University of Toledo. Gloria does many things from building the Sunday bulletin to creating the stream scenes for Sunday morning, playing the organ and accompanying the choir, updating the website and generally supporting the staff in the mission of the congregation. Gloria sees the love and support of the St. John’s family daily by the many ways they serve and love one another, no exceptions.
Amy Hamilton

Amy is a native Beaufortonian and has been a member of St. John's since birth. She is a graduate of Newberry College and Lesley University. Amy retired after 30 years of teaching working at both St. Peter's Catholic School and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School. Amy and her husband Doug have 4 children and two grandchildren.
Jenny Stoddard
Administrative Assistant

Jenny is a long-time member of St. John's and Beaufort! She taught in Beaufort and Hampton County Schools for 29 years before retiring and is a proud mom of two adult children. When she isn't at the church office she is spending time in her garden, reading, knitting, antiquing and traveling with her husband Dan.
Anne Marcengill
Bookkeeper

Anne first came to Beaufort her senior year in high school and then attended Lander College in Greenwood, SC. After raising a family in Greenwood, she returned to the lowcountry to retire. The river and the beach and all the activities surrounding both are her favorite things including sailing, kayaking, boating, and swimming. She always has a boat/beach bag ready-to-go in the back of her car!
Anne handles bookkeeping duties for us at St John's and is also the Business Manager at Carteret St UMC, where she attends.
