SC Synod Bishop
Thanks be to God for retiring SC Synod Bishop Ginny Aebischer. Bishop Ginny has been the bishop of the SC Synod for the past six years. We wish her well in her retirement.
Thanks be to God for incoming Bishop Wade Roof. He will be installed on October 24, at 10:30 am at St Stephens Lutheran Church, Lexington. We wish him well as he begins serving as our bishop.
OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE…
Endowment Fund Distribution
Deadline: TODAY, September 6
For the 2026 distribution, the Endowment Team invites each member of the congregation to submit up to three recommendations. Recommendations may include opportunities to benefit St. John’s, support outside charitable organizations, or assist individuals with specific needs. The Endowment Team will review all submissions. Place your submissions in the offering plates.
Family Promise Meals
Tuesday, September 8 and
Friday, September 11
We will provide meals for families in Family Promise, an agency which helps families with children who have lost their homes. Contact Perry Dukes if you would like to help or if you have questions.
Rubbish Rustlers
NEXT Saturday, September 12, 8:30 am
Six times a year volunteers walk the section of Lady’s Island Drive near our church to pick up trash. We need at least eight people to help – please join us for fun and fellowship. Contact Perry Dukes with questions.
St. Francis Food Pantry
NEXT Sunday, September 13
We will collect food for the St. Francis Center Food Pantry next Sunday. We ask all to consider purchasing a few extra items at the grocery store this week!
