Twentieth Sunday after Pentecost – October 11, 2026
THANKS BE TO GOD…
Volunteers
Thanks be to God for the volunteers who give their time, talents, and hearts to serve others.
Welcome Visitors
If you are a visitor to St. John’s this morning, welcome! Please let us know who you are by signing the fellowship book found on each row of chairs. All are welcome and valued, with no exceptions.
OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE…
St. Francis Pantry
Today, October 11
We are collecting nonperishable food items for the St. Francis food pantry. Donations can be left in the narthex.
Martha’s Animals
Monday, October 12
10 am – 1 pm
All are welcome to stuff small animal dolls for children who are hospitalized. No sewing skills needed. Meet in the Mission Building. Bring a late morning snack.
Workday
Saturday, October 24
9 am – 12 pm
Mark your calendars for a church workday. Help clean up and beautify our campus. Bring your own tools and work gloves.
Young Adults CAPA Service Event
Dinner and Pumpkin Carving
Saturday, October 24
5 pm – 7 pm
All young adults are invited to gather to serve dinner and carve pumpkins and paint with youth from CAPA. We will serve a taco bar. Please contact Kristen Ferguson to volunteer to provide part of dinner. Families are welcome to bring elementary-aged children (and younger). Middle and high school aged children cannot attend to protect the privacy of the youth at CAPA.
The Giving
St. John’s is joining area churches in collecting food for HELP of Beaufort’s annual Thanksgiving dinners. Our goal is 920 boxes of mashed and scalloped potatoes. Donations can be left in the Narthex outside of the Nursery. Questions? Contact Perry Dukes.
OPPORTUNITIES TO GROW…
Tuesday Nights Together
Tuesday, October 13
6 pm – 7 pm
Join us for fellowship and fun as we share a meal and Wild Card Trivia with Pastor Sean! Based on the NPR podcast, Pastor Sean will pick cards at random that ask questions about memories, insights, and beliefs to help us get to know him better.
Lutheran Women
Tuesday, October 13
7 pm – 8 pm
All women, members and friends, are invited to this monthly gathering for fellowship and devotions in the Mission Building. Those who want to join by Zoom can find a link on the calendar at St. John’s website.
